Colossians 1:19-20

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

~ Will you take this moment to praise God in all His fullness, not only for what He has done but for who He is?
~ What might you be facing right now that is robbing you of peace? How does the reminder that you have been reconciled to God through Christ and that you have peace with Him change your view of your situation?

Colossians 1:17-18

17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

~ How does understanding that Christ holds all things together affect you? How might you praise Him today as your sustainer?
~ Have you approached Christ as the supreme head of the church? in what ways might you be relying more on yourself than Him? Would you be willing to surrender these areas before Him today?

Colossians 1:15-16

The Supremacy of the Son of God
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

~ In these verses Paul is addressing one of the components of the heresy threatening the Colossian church which was the denial of the deity of Christ. What characteristics of Christ do you find here?
~According to these verses by whom and for whom have you been made? How might this change your attitude toward today?

Colossians 1:9-12

9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[e] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you[f] to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

~ What areas of your life do you feel you're lacking in wisdom and understanding? Will you pray for yourself as Paul did the Colossians in this passage?
~ How has the father qualified us to inherit His kingdom?
