21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.
~ Based on what Paul says in these verses, what do you think our purpose on this earth is as followers of Christ? How does the way you use your time and energy reflect this purpose?
~ Who has Jesus used to work in your life lately? If you haven't already, will you take a moment to pray for that person and thank God for how He is using them?
1)Based on this verse I think our purpose is to consistently encourage others in their faith and their walk with God.Basically to live a life that focuses #1 on God, and #2 on others. With that, I think this assumes that we ourselves are diligently seeking to know Him more as well...and are working to mature in our faith too just like we would be encouraging others to.
ReplyDelete2)Someone who I see as a lot more mature in their faith who is evidently to me very diligent in seeking to really Know God more and more. Someone who has transitioned from daily "discipline" to grow in the knowledge of God, to it becoming a natural part of necessary everyday lifestyle. Very inspiring and encouraging. I will indeed pray for and thank God for the blessing of this person in my life!
