Colossians 1:28-29

28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. 29 To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.

~ What do you think it means to be fully mature in Christ? What evidence do you find in your own life of this maturity?
~ How have you experienced Christ's power working in you? What challenge might you be facing that you need to surrender to His power?

  1. 1) To have and maintain a good attitude and good character...both in the light and in the dark. Positive under pressure (count it all joy when under trials...etc); Truly loves people/serves them (love others as you love yourself); Has their mouth/words under control/mastered; Peacemaker, not argumentative/cause trouble; humble; Not Selfish; Person of prayer; Student of the Word; Exhibits all the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness self control)
For me? ha! Still immature. But, seeking true maturity that I KNOW is only possible by getting to really know HIM more and more. I know that I can never do this on my own. Impossible. I have seen where I have at least grown in maturity though so I do see progress. I know one area is my mouth. Still need to grow but I can see how God has dealt with me and I'm def in a different place now than in the past!
    2) Yes! Only His power could help me keep my mouth shut! Surrender? Not sure how to fully put it into words but I know I need to surrender my ideas or thoughts of what He's called me to do/purpose to fulfill. I need to surrender trying to figure things out and just do what I know I'm to do... and that's to continue to draw closer to Him, commune with Him, hear His voice, have that relationship with Him that... does not come cheap.
